Canopy Walk Taman Negara Pahang 2022

Before trekking to the canopy walk, you do need to pay a RM5 fee at the park office behind Mutiara Resort. Also check with the office on the morning itself whether the canopy walk is open. If it has been raining heavily, the walk will be closed for safety reasons.

The trek from the park office/Mutiara Resort to the canopy walk takes about 30mins. It does require a moderate level of fitness, as there are many steps to climb. The total trek is around 1.2Km, but around 300-400m into the trek, you have the option of 2 routes. One is the bukit teresek route, which is 450m but steep steps all the way. The other route is 750m which goes around the 'hill', but still requires you to climb lots of steps at the end. My suggestion is to take the Bukit Teresek trip up, then after the canopy walk, to trek down via the other route.

Canopy Walk Taman Negara Pahang 

We reached the entrance to the canopy walk at 10am. We were the first to arrive. The entrance only opened at 10.30am. There is an age requirement to walk the canopy walk; you must be atleast 12 years old. We were given a short briefing - Only 4 people allowed on each segment of the hanging bridge at any one time, and you have to be about 10-15m behind each other (weight needs to be spread out over the bridge). Both your hands must be free, so no holding of cameras or drinks (furthermore you might drop these!)

Getting to this place requires nearly 2 km trek, but I thought it was worth it to walk along this iconic attraction in Taman Negara. At over 500 metres, this canopy is regarded as the world’s longest and a fantastic way to see the forest from a different perspective.

There are 6 segments of the hanging bridge, with a platform in between each segment. You can take photos at each platform. Each segment is about 30-40 metres long. The hanging bridge is basically a plank which is suspended by ropes. It sways a bit. But not to worry, the reinforcements by way of ropes are there, and there are side netting so you wont fall.

The view was fantastic as you get the see the top parts of the tall trees of the rainforest. Dont look down though, if you have a fear of heights!

The entire canopy walk took around 20 minutes. A must do if you're in Taman Negara!

I’m terrified of heights and the walkway does swing slightly as you walk. When I first got on, it was rather unnerving for me but once I got used to the surroundings and took in the beauty all around, it was definitely the spectacular highlight of our visit to Taman Negara. We were also very lucky that there were hardly any others about, so no queues and we could spend as long as we liked, ambling along the length of the walkway and immersing ourselves in the greenery.

Taman Negara 2022 is a vast national park in Malaysia on the Malay peninsula. It encompasses a sprawling tropical rainforest that's said to be 130 million years old. Kuala Tahan, the main entry point, is a base for the nearby canopy walkway, river trips and treks through the jungle to the top of Mt. Tahan. The park is home to tigers, macaques and birdlife, as well as the enormous flowers of the rafflesia plant.
This is an iconic of Taman Negara, regarded as the world’s longest canopy walkway. This is a must do activity in Taman Negara and you should never miss to do it. This suspension bridge is built 530 meters long and 40 meter above ground level is one of the main attractions for local and international tourists to Taman Negara.

Located about 1.7 km from Wildlife HQ, you can reach the site, 20 – 45 min trekking or 5 – 10 minutes by boat. The structure spans across the trees and connected by trunks from start to end. From the top of the platform, you will enjoy the scenic view of Taman Negara, flora and fauna.

The canopy walkway is under full supervision of wildlife department. Rules and regulations are imposed to ensure the safety of the tourists. It is open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm however closed on the raining day.

This activity requires certain level of fitness. The trail going up Teresek Hill were made from some fibre boards steps and it did made it easier to climb. But after about 1km, the steps is getting higher and certain people wouldn’t be able to make it. I’ll suggest if you just want to go for the canopy walk, stop at the junction between Teresek Hill (another 1km) and Canopy Walk (just another 100m). You can see Mount Tahan if the weather is clear from a Teresek Hill. The canopy walk is something thrilling and adrenaline rush ... my 7 year old son really enjoyed the walk. The hanging bridge is very shaky and high. If you are afraid of height, then this activity is not suitable for you.
